Parking French-style
Parking French-style
Are you in Prague with your car? Take care! It is not only Prague's car thieves that are on the permanent lookout for easy loot. Prague's City Police are out there as well.
However frustrating it is looking for a place to park, you should never risk leaving your car in places where it is forbidden. Can you imagine the shock of returning for your vehicle, only to find it has disappeared? This is what happens on countless occasions every day of the week. I'm sure the owner of the black French vehicle in the photo also experienced an unpleasant time. Hopefully he learned the lesson that ownership of a French car can never justify parking French-style.
For those of you coming to Prague just for a day's visit, it is cheaper, quicker and far less nerve-wracking to leave your car in one of the special guarded Park & Ride car parks by selected Metro stations in the city. From there it is a quick ride on the Metro to the city centre where you can travel around without suffering the high blood pressure caused by frustrating traffic jams and the total lack of parking places. And don't forget! Neither car thieves nor policemen have the habit of carting cars away in guarded car parks.
